Most individuals are unaware of their rights when in the throws of the court system, particularly family court... and particularly the ADA's ability to provide equal access to litigants with disabilities. You might say, "but I 'only' have ADHD" (which I personally regard as a superpower) or, "I'm a domestic violence survivor, but haven't been formally diagnosed with PTSD." and to that I say...

YOU HAVE RIGHTS.
About Y.A.S.A.
Meet Ash
Justice and equality aren't just words ... they're the heartbeat behind everything I do.
I discovered ADA advocacy the hard way ... through lived experience of the systemic failure that too many individuals know the family court system to be. As a neurodivergent trauma survivor and mother of a child with access barriers, I’ve had to learn how to stand up to systems that were supposed to protect us, but didn’t. I know firsthand what it feels like to be dismissed, overwhelmed, and pushed to the edge by courts, schools, workplaces and providers who don’t understand disability—especially when it’s invisible. When the court continued to cause harm, I went in search of 'the missing piece'... and when I found a brilliant mind who was teaching others about the ADA and how it provides equal access to litigants with invisible disabilities, I knew that was "IT". I reached out to (and ultimately hired), him and the more I learned, the more I knew I was perfectly made for walking beside others facing those same institutions.

I have a degree in Criminal Justice, a lifetime of advocacy in various capacity to include serving as a peer mediator in middle school (I was that cool) and am working pre-law undergrad. I am also a children's author hoping to protect littles from being disconnected from who they are by the disconnected adults around them.

I can’t promise outcomes. But I can promise that I will fight incredibly hard to make sure your federally protected rights are seen, named, and demanded —especially when local systems try to ignore or bypass them. My role is to help you request the accommodations you're legally entitled to, prepare you for what to expect to the best of my ability and remind you that you’re not alone in the process anymore.
